Hymn: A Hymn of Glory Let Us Sing!
Lyrics: The Veneble Bede; Music: “Geistliche Kirchengesänge,” Köln (1623)
A hymn of glory let us sing;
new hymns throughout the world shall ring:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Christ, by a road before untrod,
ascends unto the throne of God.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
The holy apostolic band
upon the Mount of Olives stand;
Alleluia! Alleluia!
and with his faithful followers see
their Lord ascend in majesty.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
To whom the angels, drawing nigh:
“Why stand and gaze upon the sky?”
Alleluia! Alleluia!
“This is the Savior!” Thus they say,
"This is his glorious triumph day.”
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
“You see him now, ascending high
up to the portals of the sky.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
“Hereafter, Jesus you shall see
Returning in great majesty.”
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!
O risen Christ, ascended Lord,
all praise to you let earth accord:
Alleluia! Alleluia!
You are, while endless ages run,
with Father and the Spirit one.
Alleluia! Alleluia!
Alleluia, Alleluia, Alleluia!

Prayer of the Day
Acts 1:1–11
Psalm 47:1–10 (responses are even-numbered verses)
1Clap your hands, all you peoples;
shout to God with a cry of joy.
2For the Lord Most High is to be feared;
he is the great king over all the earth.
3He subdues the peoples under us,
and the nations under our feet.
4He chooses our inheritance for us,
the pride of Jacob whom he loves.
5God has gone up with a shout,
the Lord with the sound of the ram’s horn.
6Sing praises to God, sing praises;
sing praises to our king, sing praises.
7For God is king of all the earth;
sing praises with all your skill.
8God reigns over the nations;
God sits upon his holy throne.
9The nobles of the peoples have gathered together
with the people of the God of Abraham.
10The rulers of the earth belong to God,
and he is highly exalted.

When we do reopen, we hope you will join us—or continue watching live services on our website if distance or other reasons do not allow being with us in our sanctuary.
